Dear Terry Roland "Stop Hating Muslims"

A VIDEO FROM A RECENT COMMUNITY CONGRESS MEETING I ATTENDED....

Dear Mr. Roland,

Although you do not know me, we have a lot in common. I was born in a good Christian home. I was raised on a farm, or "in the woods" as I often say. My grandfather was in the Corps of Engineers and on a supply ship in the Korean War. My Grandmother owned and operated a private school named "Frady Montessori School". You see, we both are good ole boys from the Country and love our heritage, our Nation, and our fellow Americans. We both believe in God and Jesus, and we both love our neighbors, as God has instructuted us in all His Divine Revelations. You and your family own businesses and my family and I own businesses. Your a white guy and I'm a white guy... But, then again, we are very very different....

My choice of faith, and your prejudice and hatred, contrary to Christian practices, caused you to deny me and my family the money we use to feed ourselves, donate to good Christian Organization like "Friends of Faith", they help the DOWNS Syndrome, and do good where we can. Oh, did I mention, my uncle has DOWNS syndrome. Yea, my Irish Grandmother and American Indian grandfather were to old when they had David, but he has been the greatest blessing to us all.

You owned a store in Millington, TN beside your transmission shop; you know the BP Shop you sold to the foreigners. In fact, I walked into your transmission shop one day, with my Old School Cookies, and passed them around. You guys loved them and told me to start service at your gas station next door. You thought I was like you! I walked and talked the talk of a good ole southern boy, and you ate it up. Your spidy sense was lacking that day my friend....

A few months passed by and you found out something that pissed you off. You found out I was a Muslim. I passed out a letter to all the stores we serviced that explained "we would not be making regularly scheduled deliveries do to the owners being away during a religious holiday". Your former employee, since you sold the store, asked me "what religion are you?". His name was Mr. Mac, as I recall. I replied, "We are Muslims".

The next time I walked into the store I was told, "No thank you, the owner doesn't need your cookies anymore". It was hard to chew, I must admit, because it was clear to me that my faith in God and God alone had caused you to kick me out.(I think that is called prejudice? Do you feel the same way about blacks? One can only wonder my Caucasian buddy.) But, all praises be to God, He has given us guidance in these times of test.

"Oh you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer, for God is with those who patiently persevere." (2:153)
"Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods, lives, and the fruits of your toil. But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere. Those who say, when afflicted with calamity, 'To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return.' They are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and mercy. They are the ones who receive guidance." (2:155-157)

To clarify what we believe, I have posted a wonderful little book on the matter. It is for you and all who wish to read> The Book

Why am I saying all this? I'll tell you and the readers that it is because I believe you to be a person who hates based on ignorance. Your freaking out over Charter Schools being ran or influenced by Muslims who are tied to Islam is just plain ole southern prejudice and hatred, and your kicking my Handmade Homemade Cookies out of your store was proof enough for me. If you understood for one minute the beliefs of a Muslim, you would never say what you have said or done what you have done.

These people (The Muslims) have helped me to be guided in my understanding of Islam and a book and tradition that has transformed my life and others around me. As my momma said, "I want to understand Islam! I want to know what has changed my boy, when I thought that nothing could! You have stopped cursing, you respect others and do good deeds, pray five times a day, take your shoes off at the door, and you tell me that it teaches you that (Heaven is found at the foot of the mother)! Your Muslim friends are all competing to see who can help us the most, this is not from Satan... This could not be but from God!" Man I love how my momma puts it.....

So, I hereby invite you to the Muslim Society of Memphis to sit down with us Mozlems and get to know who we really are. And I also humbly ask you to stop hating a people that you don't know or understand; it only makes you equal to those who are in a gang and hate another based on color..... Hating people out of ignorance is not from God....

Just email me and it's done! What do you say?
